Wall mirrors – Getting the most out of them

Round Wall Mirrors
Wall mirrors are very beneficial at the decoration of your home since they can add a sense of spaciousness in the room. But how can you get the most out of your wall mirror? There are some practical things you can do to achieve this.
Think before you buy
To begin with, the perfect decoration with a wall mirror starts before you buy one. You should find the mirror that suits your personal style best and imagine it in the room with the rest of the furniture. The frame, the size and the shape of the wall mirror are very important and you should consider them twice before you make your move. The wall mirror should be in a great amount of harmony with the rest of the room.
The right angle
Since you have purchased a wall mirror, you should find the perfect wall for it along with the perfect angle. If you have bought a small mirror that does not take up the entire wall, you can hang it at any wall and at any height you want. Make sure, though, that the angle of the light reflected is in alliance with the sun in the morning and the lights at night so as their reflection does not blind you while you are at the room.
This is very important for the wall mirrors that take up an entire wall. Pay attention at this wall so as not to have a “bad reflection” during the day. You can achieve that by installing the wall mirror not very close or opposite a window. Installing a mirror next to a window, less light will fall there and the reflection would be dark. On the other hand, if you place a wall mirror opposite a window, the reflection will be too bright. So, in order to get the most out of a wall mirror you should find the perfect balance between these two situations.
Another option
However, if the above balance can not be found, you can always have a lighted wall mirror. Whenever the natural light in your room makes a fine reflection with the mirror, you do not have a problem. But, when this reflection is unbearable, you can open up the lights of the mirror and the problem will be solved instantly.
In conclusion, wall mirrors are very elegant and fancy by themselves. Finding the perfect spot for them can be hard but it would definitely help your decoration and you would make the most out of the mirror you have bought.
I am trying to redecorate my house and I’d like to cover an entire wall with a whole wall mirror. It will be the first time for me to do this and I was wondering if you could give me any tips or sugesstions. I love whole wall mirrors decoration but it is a little bit difficult to take final decisions when it comes to my own house, so I would appreciate any kind of help. Thank you very much!

Great site! Could you include some tips on large wall mirror decoration? I’ve already placed my huge wall mirror on the largest wall of my tiny room. The room seems double-sized and the result is more than interesting! What I believe is that there is a way to decorate the whole mirror a little bit more and that’s what I am trying to do. The extra space effect is absolutely great but I think that I am missing something. I want to find a way to add some decorative elements. As you know, mirrors reveal things and in my case (of a tiny room) this is not what I want! What I mean is that I’d like to decorate the room avoiding the funny effect of double decoration elements. If you have any ideas – I am sure you have more than I do – please give me some extra tips. Thank you for your time! Keep it up!

I have already a lot of rectangular wall mirrors in my house. Well… my mother is a decoration maniac! After reading some of your articles I’ve totally changed the way I feel about these mirrors. After a few changes in placement, angles and lights, I can finally tell that I’ve created an awesome interior out of these old fashioned wall mirrors. Now I am about to try purchasing a whole wall mirror for the living room. Thank you for the tips! Keep it up!

Hi! I am trying to find a large wall mirror at a very low price. I don’t care if it is a used one. A search on the internet didn’t help and I was wondering if you could help me by telling me the best way ti find a wall mirror at a very low price or even a used one. Do you have any idea of where I could buy or even just find an old piece? What I have in mind is not decorating my house with that but creating a modern piece of art. I am going to use it in a modern art construction and in some video installations as well. I am sure you will have the best tip for me. Looking forward for your answer. Thanks!

Hi! I am an industrial designer interested in combining mirrors into metallic constructions. The mirrors in this photo is exactly what I am looking for and I was wondering if you could help me finding something like that. The ideal mirror size for the construction I have in my mind is a bit smaller but I guess this one could do just fine too. You can do awesome things with disfiguring mirrors especially when you combine them with magnifying lenses! If you have any idea of where I could find them, please contact me! Also I would appreciate if you could tell me the best and the safest way to stick these mirrors on a whole wall mirror. Is there a kind of special glue suitable for this? Thank you very much for your time! Keep it up!
